Alvin William Luoma
Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, November 7, 2017, Alvin William Luoma, 92, loving husband of 63 years to Mary Lou Luoma.
Mr. Luoma was a native of Wakefield, MI. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII. Mr. Luoma retired as a teacher from the East Detroit Public School System. He also was a contractor and built many houses for friends and teachers, drafting all the plans himself.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his children: Melanie Szucs (David), Keith Luoma (Linda); grandchildren: Kari Summers (Jack), Bryan Szucs (Sara), Lauren Luoma, Jeff Szucs, Rachel Luoma; and brother: David Luoma (Nancy). He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Pastor David Keener officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope St. John’s Parish, 223 E. Mill Street, Oscoda Twp., MI 48750 or to Christ The King Lutheran Church, 4232 Evans to Locks Road, Evans, GA 30809.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon following the service at the church.
