Billy Moore Pollard, DDS

Grovetown, Ga - Billy Moore Pollard, D.D.S. passed away March 29, 2018 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born in Gates, TN in 1926 to Alma and W. T. Pollard, he graduated from Bradford H.S. and enlisted in the Navy serving in WWII as a dental corpsman. After attending Union University in Jackson, TN Bill graduated with a D.D.S. degree from the UT Dental School in Memphis and completed his dental internship at Bethesda Naval Hospital in MD. Following 20 years of private practice in Jackson, TN, Bill moved to Augusta to join the MCG Dental School faculty in 1972, becoming Chairman of Associated Dental Sciences. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jean and their two children Michael Pollard (Betty) and Michelle Pollard, grandchildren David Meeker, Erin Sallette (David) and great-granddaughter Abigail. Bill is also survived by a brother Robert Thomas Pollard (Margaret) of Lansing, MI, and two sisters Mary Alice Usery of Cleveland, TN and Linda Sue Riddick of Dover, TN as well as many nieces and nephews. Special thanks from the family go to Bill’s wonderful healthcare workers as well as Southeast Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 14th at Thomas Poteet and Son on Davis Rd with visitation at 1pm and service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church on N. Belair Rd in Evans, GA or to the charity of your choice.
