Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, April 3, 2017, Nayera Nicolas Sharawy, age 76. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Dr. Mohamed Sharawy; daughter: Eman Sharawy; sons: Ehab Sharawy and wife Patricia, Hesham Sharawy; grandchildren: Maxwell Sharawy and Carson Sharawy; siblings Nicola George Nicolas; Nagwa George Nicolas; and Nahid George Nicolas.
Dr. Sharawy was born in Damietta, Egypt. She received her DDS in Cairo, Egypt and went on to further her career with a specialty in pediatric dentistry from The Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York. Dr. Sharawy received her Master of Oral Biology from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia. She was a loving mother and devoted wife of 52 years. Dr. Sharawy was selfless, compassionate, and loving to not only her family, but also her dear and lifelong friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Father Vasile Bitere officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation at 1001 E. 101st Terrace, Suite 220, Kansas City, MO 64131; www.pkdcure.org or to The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 953 Telfair Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
