Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, March 17, 2018, Mr. Edward James O’Rourke, 92, loving husband to Josephine F. O’Rourke.

Mr. O’Rourke was a native of Missouri Valley, Iowa but has lived in Augusta since 1958. He retired as a chemist from DuPont and he was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his sons: Thomas O’Rourke (June), Patrick O’Rourke (Nancy), Martin O’Rourke, John O’Rourke (Barbara), Fr. Michael O’Rourke O.P., Daniel O’Rourke (Robbie); daughters: Cleta Bless (Robert), and Cecilia Nelson (Gordon); grandchildren: Andrea, Craig, Nathaniel, Sean, David, Brian, Kathleen, Amanda, Matthew, Megan, Dan, Karen, Anne, Kelly, Michelle, Mark, Theresa, John, Julia, and Sydney; and two great grandsons: Connell and Keaton.

The funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Michael O’Rourke O.P. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care, 1901 Central Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.
