Jim Alling

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, March 25, 2018, Mr. James “Jim” Joseph Alling, 75, loving husband to Lois B. Alling.

Mr. Alling was born in Johnson City, NY and in 1965 Jim married the love of his life, Lois. In 1978, he moved his family to Augusta and joined the Alleluia Community. He earned his EdD from the University of Georgia and taught at Augusta Technical College until he retired in 2003.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his children: Chris Alling, Patrick Alling (Leanne), Kara Hebert, James Alling, and Laura Schwarber (Joshua); 14 grandchildren; and sisters: Barbara Kelly, and Patricia Salzman (Leo). He is preceded in death by his parents: William and Anne Alling; brothers: William Alling and Frank Alling; and sister: Jean Alling.

A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be Wednesday, March 28, 2018, 1:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Van Alstine celebrant. Burial will follow in the Alleluia Community Cemetery.

A Holy Rosary will be prayed Tuesday evening at 5:30 P.M. and the family will receive friends following from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at the church.
