Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, May 27, 2017, Mrs. Julia Catherine Young, 93, loving wife to the late Harper M. Young, Jr.

Mrs. Young retired as a school teacher from the Richmond County Board of Education with over 20 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta.

Family members include her sons: Harper Kyle Young (Coni) of Aiken, SC and J. Kent Young (Kathryn); daughter: Kathy Y. Hall, both of Augusta, GA; grandchildren: Kristen Levinsohn, Greg Young, Ashlyn Ward, Katelyn Young, Cameron Young, Julia Simmons, Heather Joy, Karla Cribbs, Jacob Miskelly, Denise Gibson, Ashleigh Ringus, and Paul C. Miskelly; 28 great grandchildren and brother: Arnold Ray Liles (Sarah) of Monroe, LA.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Patti Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 106 SRP, Drive, Ste. A, Evans, GA 30809 or to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, 2429 Persimmon Road, Augusta, GA 30904.
