Lincolnton, GA – Entered into rest Monday, April 17, 2017, John A. R. Olson, age 79. Loving husband, to the late Irene E. Olson.

Mr. Olson retired from the United States Army as a SFC after 20 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. Mr. Olson enjoyed sports, particularly the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and the UGA Bulldogs. He loved to debate and defend his teams.

Family members in addition to his wife, include: sons: John (Jennifer), Donald, Ronald (Christy), and the late Gerald Olson, daughter: Jacquie McCarrick, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchild; brothers: Gary, Doug, Bob and Dennis Olson; sister: Diane Riehl; and many loved nieces and nephews, including special nieces Shannon Penrow and Beth Wickel.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Olson was preceded in death by his brothers: Bill, Reggie, Tommy and Richard Olson.

Graveside service will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating.
