Evans, Ga - William E. Mills (Billy), 74, entered into rest August 18, 2017, loving husband of Mary Ann Mills.

Billy graduated from Evans High School and attended Augusta College. He worked at WJBF Channel 6 for over 40 years, where he met his dear friend Rick Krewson. He was a lifelong resident of Columbia County where he met his close friends, Ralph Guilbeau and Douglas Partridge. His love for music and playing in a band is how he met the love of his life Mary Ann Mills. They were married for 53 years. Billy had a great interest in history, archaeology and the outdoors. He will also be remembered for his great sense of humor, his strong Christian faith and the love he had for his family.

He is preceded in death by his father Harry W. Mills, mother Edna G Mills, brother Buddy Mills, daughter Angela Lynn Mills, and brother-in-law Pierce Brassell.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include sisters Joyce Brassell, Brenda Mills Lockee (Tony), daughter Lisa Mills Mays (Rusty), grandsons River Mills Mays, Baler Mills Mays, two special nieces Dina Lockee Smith and Tara Lockee Gordon.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ralph Guilbeau, Mike Guilbeau, Mark Guilbeau, Shane Guilbeau, Fletcher Proctor, and Robert Stanley.
