Anthony J. Ferrara, Jr.

Anthony Joseph Ferrara Jr., age 96, passed away November 10, 2021 in Evans, GA.
He is survived by the love of his life, Frances, and were married for 71 years. They have three children, Bobby, Gary and Theresa, 8 grand-children and 13 great grand-children.
Anthony was born and raised in New York City. Anthony was a hero in WWII, where he was a paratrooper as part of the 82nd Airborne Division and made 7 jumps over France. He received an honorable discharge on December 25, 1945. He was a proud member of the Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Union Local 262 (formerly local 60) since 1949. He was a member of the VETS to Washington Project, American Legion Post 0192 and Knights of Columbus Council 8495. He loved deer hunting and playing the Lottery, using his “system” playing his cards; Heaven help if we misplayed the cards, we would not hear the end of it. He loved gardening and had buckets filled with tomatoes, basil, etc., etc. in his backyard.
We ask that in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to the Paralyzed Veterans of America | Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
The Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, 2:00 P.M. and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home of Thomas Poteet & Son, located at 214 Davis Road, Augusta, GA 30907 (706)364-8484.
