Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, August 14, 2014, William (Bill) Rountree DaVitte, 55, beloved husband and best friend of 27 years to Jennifer (Jenny) DaVitte.
Mr. DaVitte, a native of Augusta, worked at Resolute Forrest Industries (Augusta Newsprint) for 31 years. He was an avid golfer and loved being Papa to his 3 grandkids. He enjoyed spending time at the beach with Jenny, Allyson, Tyler and grandbabies.
In addition to his wife, family members include son: Tyler DaVitte (Morgan); daughter: Allyson Madden (John); grandsons: Seth Birong and Eli Madden; granddaughter: Cadence DaVitte; siblings: Suzette Morris (Tim), Elaine Nannette DaVitte (Richard), John DaVitte, Jr. (Mayra), George DaVitte (Yvonne), Joe DaVitte (Cami), Holly DaVitte (Craig); brother-in-law: Ronnie Wright; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: John Cytone DaVitte and Florence Rountree DaVitte.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Robert Smith and Rev. Elizabeth Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers to include Marty Quesada, Jared Macky, Tom Lillis, Dennis Finch, Mike Adams, Dave Sumter, Gary Macky and John Adams.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia: 1446 Harper Street, Augusta, GA 30912 or to the Journey Community Church: 4798 Hardy McManus Road, Evans, GA 30809.
