Bobbie Clardy, Sr.

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, June 10, 2022, Captain Bobbie Joe Clardy, Sr., U.S. Marines (Mustang, Ret.), 85, loving husband of 63 years to the late Peggy Carn Clardy.

Bobbie was a native of Beech Island, SC but has lived in Augusta for 42 years. He proudly served in the United States Marines serving two tours in Vietnam. Bobbie also served as an Elder at Westside Christian Church and Deacon at Martinez Baptist Church.

Family members include his daughter: Rhonda Sue McDowell (Chuck); son: Bobbie Joe Clardy, Jr.; grandchildren: Autumn Turner, Allison Turner, Laura Clardy, and Michael Clardy; great-grandchild: Madison Niedenthal; and sisters: the late Mary Alice Clardy: Linda Gail Choate (Al): Mazie Phillips Hicks. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, Isom Haley Clardy and Alice Capps Phillips.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Phillip Winsett and Rev. Barry Clanton officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
