Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, September 20, 2018, Mr. David Scott Chesser, 48, loving husband to Melissa S. Chesser.

Mr. Chesser was a lifelong resident of Augusta and he attended the Academy of Richmond County. At the age of 15 he began his career as a courtesy clerk with Kroger and continued there for 33 years. Over the past 20 years as an assistant manager, David served six stores in the Augusta/Aiken area. He was a Superman fan and was a family man that spent time with his girls whether it be watching their favorite TV shows, going to football games as a band dad and attending dance competitions. Mr. Chesser was a beloved husband, father, and friend.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughters: Madison Lynn and Megan Marie Chesser; parents: Eugene and Margaret Chesser; sister: Denise Dunevent (Jason); parents-in-law: Willis and Cheryl Sanders; and numerous loving family members.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. Beth Sanders and Rev. Steven Hansen officiating. Please wear your favorite color “blue” in David’s honor for the service.

Pallbearers will be Mike Self, Josh Stone, Chris Sievers, Brannon Boswell, Jordan Derrick, Stephen Griffin, and Robby Pierson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kroger employees.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chesser Girls Scholarship Fund made payable to Melissa Chesser, c/o Associated Credit Union, 3749 Wheeler Rd., Augusta, GA 30909.
