David S. Kent

Augusta, GA – Beloved son, brother and uncle, David Samuel Kent entered into rest on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at the age of 33 after a five-year battle with cancer.

David was a 2006 Alleluia Community School graduate and a 2011 graduate of GA Tech . He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering and had been employed at SRNS. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and also an Eagle Scout responsible for putting in a boardwalk path for Phinizy Swamp.

Surviving family members include his father: Samuel Joseph Kent; brothers: James, and Christian Kent; sisters: Johanna/(Chris) Cain, Brittany, Rebekah, Heather, Kathleen, Therese, and Mikaela Kent; and nieces: Amelia and Collins. David was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Mellen Kent, and grandparents, Helen Kent and Hugh and Roberta Mellen.

The funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 18th, 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Mark VanAlstine and Father Thomas Healey as celebrants. Interment will follow at the Alleluia Community Cemetery, Dearing, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Math and Science Departments at Alleluia Community School.
