Dawn Tudor

Dawn Peacock Tudor passed away peacefully at her home on August 10, 2022. She was born on April 25, 1936, in Greenville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Doane R. Peacock and Lena Leggette Peacock. She graduated from the Tubman School for Girls. She went back to school at forty years old to receive her nursing degree. She had a passion for nursing. She worked as the school nurse at the Academy of Richmond County and Tubman Middle School for many years. She would always say “I love my students.” She was a member of the Augusta Junior Women’s Club and the Amdoes Civic Club. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Evans. She always enjoyed visiting her mountain home.
She was married to the late Robert L. Tudor III for forty-eight years. She is survived by her sister: Annette Griffin; her son: Dr. R. Keith Tudor (Paula); daughter: Susan Tudor Dunmire (Bob); son: John D. Tudor (Denise); five grandchildren: David Tudor, Kyle Tudor, Cameron Tudor, Ashley Dunmire, and Kate Tudor; five great-grandchildren: Rivers Tudor, Isa Tudor, Riggins Tudor, William Parker, and Dani Kate Parker.
A private family graveside service will be held in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CSRA Humane Society, P.O. Box 14667 Augusta, GA 30919 or to Augusta Ambucs (Gene Spires), 1820 Valley Brook Dr. Grovetown, GA 30813.
