Debra Lee Hoyt

Augusta, GA – Was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, Mrs. Debra Lee Hoyt, 67, loving wife of 43 years to Mr. Mark Daniel Hoyt.

Debra deeply loved her children: Adam Hoyt (Shannon) and Kelsey Hawkins (Bobby); four grandchildren: Maddux and Abigail Hoyt and Hunter and Noah Hawkins; and her siblings: Jean Cox, Linda Nelson, Elmo Lee (Mary) and Linwood Lee (Geraldine). She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lee and siblings: Shirley Mundy and Dr. William Crisp.

Debra was born in Arapahoe, North Carolina, and graduated from Pamlico County High School. She later moved to Georgia where she met her husband, Mark. They were married at Holy Trinity in Augusta, Georgia. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, where she taught Sunday school and served on the Bereavement Committee. She was cofounder and owner of D&M Graphics for twenty years, as well as a dental assistant for Augusta University Dental School (MCG). Debra loved family trips to Myrtle beach, card games, drawing, listening to her husband’s band and riding on his motorcycle with him. Her gentle and loving nature was felt by all. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church (Grovetown, Georgia) with Father Theodore Agba. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
