Mrs. Curtis was a born and raised in Augusta. She attended the Academy of Richmond County. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Family members include her daughter: Tessa Marie Smith (Mark); granddaughter: Hayden Grace Chambers; sisters: Patsy Gordon and Derry Tipton (Tony); brother: Mickey Shirley; sister in law: Betty Jean Curtis; adopted parents: Rev. Don and Jean Tipton; adopted sister: Donna Tipton and beloved cat: Allie. She is preceded in death by her son: Dusty Smith; brother: George Curtis; brother-in-law: Rusty Gordon; father: George Curtis, Sr.; and mother: Annie Wise.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Wally Hoyle officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Hephzibah, GA.
