Rev. Donald B. Wilson Sr.

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, Rev. Donald B. Wilson, Sr., 84, devoted and loving husband of 58 years to the love of his life Mrs. LaVerne Turner Wilson.

Rev. Donald Wilson, Sr. was an Outreach Minister for many years at Pine View Baptist Church where he was passionate about ministering to the hospitalized, shut-ins, and their families. One of his greatest joys was witnessing to others and winning souls for the Lord. For 33 years he was with the Augusta Police Department and he served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. Donald had a passionate and unconditional love for his family and he enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

Family members in addition to his wife, include his children: Donald (Ruth) Wilson, Jr., Deborah (Henry) Long, Kurt (Carrie) Wilson, Janie (Khris) Bargeron; grandchildren: Corey Pullium, Elyse Wilson, Elana Wilson, Cameron Wilson, Heather (Sean) Martin, Bradley Wilson, Dana (Zeke) Lloyd, Dalton (Kayla) Long, Austin Bargeron and Kaylee Bargeron and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Ellis and Gertrude Whitehead Wilson and grandson, Blake K. Bargeron.

Pallbearers will be Henry Long, Khris Bargeron, Zeke Lloyd, Austin Bargeron, Dalton Long and Cameron Wilson.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Michael Davenport and Rev. John Kilpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family requests anyone attending to wear a mask and follow social distancing.
