Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, October 10, 2021, Ms. Erin Elizabeth Sussman, 33, the loving daughter of William and Debra Sussman; sister to Robert Sussman, Sarah Sussman and David Burke; and mother to beloved pups Asher and Sadie. Her aunts and uncles are Lynn Looby (Larry), Carol Sussman and Dale James (Valerie).
Born on September 2, 1988, Erin graduated from Augusta Preparatory Day School in June, 2006 and went on to earn degrees in international affairs & modern languages, with a minor in French from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She then earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law and was licensed to practice law in both Georgia and Florida. She lived in Atlanta for a number of years before returning to the Augusta area to work with her father. Erin was an avid reader and had a propensity for learning new languages. She was fluent in Spanish and French and conversational in Arabic. Her laughter and humor would light up anyone around her, while her advice and insight were that of someone much older and wiser. She was an “old soul” who is gone too soon and will be deeply missed by all.
A private family graveside service will be held with a memorial service to be scheduled for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the animal rescue or shelter of your choice in honor of Erin.
