Augusta, GA – Gladys Willingham Ridley, 97, entered into rest Friday,
February 19, 2018.

Mrs. Ridley died from the causes and effects of a life lived well and long. Gladys Willingham Ridley was born October 29, 1920. One of five children born to Ector John Edward Haynes and Iva Gladys Briley Haynes in Manchester, GA, Gladys Willingham made Macon, GA her home for most of her adult life. She established Willingham Sporting Goods promoting numerous sporting activities throughout Middle GA., and later served as president of Willingham Sporting Goods after her husband’s death.

Gladys Willingham Ridley was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Ridley was also preceded in death by her first husband: Joseph Parks Willingham, Sr., her second husband: Dr. Charles L. Ridley, Jr., son: Joseph Parks Willingham, Jr., daughter: Anna Clair Willingham Massey; and grandson: Winton Parks Connell. Also, preceded in death were her three brothers and sister.

Surviving family members include: son: Edward Haynes Willingham (Luisa) of Tegucigalpa, Honduras; daughter: MaryLib Connell of Augusta, GA; grandchildren: Justin Willingham (Monica) of Tegucigalpa, Fernanda Willingham (Antonio) of Tegucigalpa, Cristina Willingham Regalado (Marcos) of Salvador, Merrill Massey Minor (Paul) of San Antonio, Texas, and Cameron Connell (Ashley) of Augusta. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
