Augusta, GA – Mr. Greg Thomas Walters, 48, entered into rest Saturday, October 21, 2017.
Mr. Walters was a graduate of Westside High School (1987), Augusta Technical College for Automotive Technology (1989), and of Trident Technical College for Aircraft Maintenance and Technology (1992). He had a license in Federal Aviation Administration, Airframe and Power Plant as well as Refrigeration Repair and Freon Handling. Mr. Walters was a previous employee of Club Car as a Test and Development Technician and he was also a member St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church.
He was a loving son, brother, and uncle who loved spending time by the water. Mr. Walters was the true “Last Chance Garage” who could fix anything he touched. He enjoyed playing golf at The Patch with his father and tinkering with electronics. He had a great love, appreciation, and an ear for music especially the artist of the past.
Family members include his parents: Tom and Rita Walters; sisters: Pamy Walters, Nancy Walters Libengood (Dave), and Julie Walters Voegtlen (Bob); nephews: David Jackson (Courtney), Christopher Jackson, Paul Jackson, Robert Voegtlen, and Dylan Libengood; and niece: Jessie Anderson. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, C.C. and Bessie Walters, John and Catherine Pulaski.
The funeral Mass will be Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Hull celebrant. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service, beginning at 10:30 A.M., in the Narthex of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Social Services, 811 12th Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
