Mr. Shearer was born and raised in Augusta and retired from Duke/Richards Buick as Parts Department Manager.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include sons: Russell F. Shearer Sr. (Mary), Vance W. Shearer; grandchildren: Russell Shearer Jr., Stacey Plooster (Tyler); great-grandchildren: Skyler and Shelby Plooster. Mr. Shearer is preceded in death by sons: Harry J. Shearer III, David V. Shearer; and his first wife: Adele Farr Shearer.
The family will hold a private memorial service.
