Jane was a lifelong residence of Augusta, retiring after 34 years of teaching from the Richmond County Board of Education. Her hobbies were watching baseball and she was active in the Confederacy of Dunces book club.
Family members include her mother: Jewel G. Whitten; brother: Carson DeWitt Whitten, III (Martha); sister: Nancy Lunde (Brian); nieces and nephews: Mandy Whitten, Jared Whitten, Leslie Goff (Peter), Andrew Lunde; great-nieces and nephews: Dickson Nash, Judah Nash, Gideon Nash, Wren Nash, Adah Nash, Mattie Nash, Ezekiel Goff, Dahlia Goff, Emmanuel Goff and her fur babies: Lili and Larry. She was preceded in death by her father, Carson DeWitt Whitten, Jr.
A private service will be held at a later date.
