Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, July 25, 2018, John Avery Boyd, Jr., 82, loving husband of Doris Mimbs Boyd.
Mr. Boyd was born in Aiken County, SC in 1936. He resided in Grovetown, GA and attended Bethesda Baptist Church in Harlem, GA.
Family members, in addition to his wife include his sons: John Avery Boyd, III (Meagan) of Grovetown, GA, Johnny Allen Boyd of Evans, GA, Jerry Dean Boyd of Appling, GA; daughters: Helen Finley, Bobbie Revis (Howard) of North Augusta, SC; sixteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters: Aileen Boyd, Annie Green; and brother: Tommy Boyd.
A memorial service will be Saturday, July 28, 2018, 6:00 P.M. at Bethesda Baptist Church in Harlem with Pastor Clayton Galloway officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Columbia County Fire and Rescue, Major Robert Eastman and McDonald’s Coffee Club.
In lieu of flowers the family requests charitable donations be made to the Georgia Fallen Firefighter’s Foundation, 11 Fox Meadow Court, Euharlee, GA 30145.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 5:00P.M. at the church.
