Augusta, GA – In loving memory of Josephine “Jo” Mary Puopulo Treadwell, May 1923 – August 2018. She was a Coast Guard WWII veteran and the Coast Guard’s poster girl for WWII.
Jo married a WWII Air Force pilot, Roger B. Treadwell. They lived and traveled all over the world with their three daughters and retired in Evans, GA. In1978, after the passing of her husband, Jo was active doing volunteer work at Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
She is survived by her three children: Cathy Treadwell of Evans, GA, JoAnn Webb of Athens, GA, and Regina (Cliff) Taylor of Statham, GA; five grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Jo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The funeral service will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Terry Doss officiating. The burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
