Josie was born in Columbus, Ohio, and was a longtime resident of Augusta. She was a member of Silvercrest Baptist Church.
Family members in addition to her husband David include her children: Heaven Scarberry, Bradley Scarberry and Pachance Scarberry; stepchildren: David Chandler, Jr. and Cheyenne Chandler. Josie is also survived by her parents: Willard and Dixie Rickerson and brother: John Stubbs Jr.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
