Augusta, GA - Leland Earl Staulcup, 96, passed on Saturday, January 27, 2018.
He was born in 1921 in Sharon, TN, to the late Lynn McGrady Staulcup D.V.M., and Emma Lydia (Adams) Staulcup. He retired from the U.S. Army and the Medical College of Georgia. He was a member of Saint Luke’s Anglican Catholic Church and George Walton Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Staulcup, his son Lynn Staulcup, his brothers Frank and Aaron Staulcup, and sister Alice Overton.
Survivors include his son, James Staulcup (Martha), daughter Rita (Staulcup) Vaughan (Tommy), daughter-in-law Linda (Webb) Staulcup, brother John Staulcup (JoAnn), seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Masonic Rites by Members of George Walton Masonic Lodge F&AM, Roy Stampley, PM officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dan Vaughan, Keith Vaughan, and David Staulcup, and Gene Staulcup, Karl Staulcup, and John Chavis.
The family request that no flowers be sent and memorial contributions be made to St. Luke’s Anglican Catholic Church at 3081 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909 or to George Walton Masonic Lodge #699 Trust Fund at PO Box 5543, Augusta, GA 30916.
