Magdalene Morris

Martinez, GA – Mary Magdalene Morris, 93 passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, September 2, 2021, after a long illness. She was born June 12, 1928, in Mitchell, GA to Ellis and Laverta Daniels.

Magdalene married Jesse Morris, on February 13, 1949. She was a homemaker, who loved her flowers and working in her yard. Magdalene and her husband enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling. She always enjoyed the mountains and spending time with family and friends.

Magdalene was a lifelong member of Bayvale Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and her family attended regularly. She founded an ongoing scholarship fund for the girls who reside in Jesse’s House, a home named for her late husband.

Family members include her son: Larry Morris and wife Pamela of Big Canoe, GA; daughter: Dianne Gaines and husband Michael of Augusta; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings Ralph Daniels, Uretha Thigpen, G. T. Daniels, Ray Daniels, Wrestly Daniels, Jesse Daniels and Kent Daniels.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Dr. Prosser officiating.
