Mrs. Marcelle Sanders Tyson died Saturday, August 22, 2020. She was born August 31, 1931, and was preceded in death by her father Charles Sanders, mother Evelyn Richardson, husband: Thomas H. Tyson, son: Thomas Rike Tyson, brother: Michael Sanders and sister: Velma Charlene Sanders. She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marcelle was employed at DuPont until retirement, had a pilot’s license, loved boating and traveling. She was known for her quick wit, sweet smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. She was a classy lady.
Thanks to the loving care provided by Benton House in Augusta, where she resided for the last two years.
A service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 25th, 2020 in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Entombment will follow at Westover Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, Marcelle requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society: 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, GA 30909.
