Margaret Lorraine Miller

Margaret Lorraine Miller entered into rest Monday, November 22, 2021, after having lived a long and fulfilled life.

Lorraine was born June 16, 1921, in Silverton, Colorado, the only child of Adelina and William Brayden but spent her growing up years in Denver, Colorado. Her first marriage to Bruce Berryhill ended in 1968. Her marriage to Don E. Miller was long and filled with good times in Wichita, Kansas, Tampa, Florida, and Evans, Georgia.

Lorraine made friends easily and loved cooking and entertaining for them when she and Don were not traveling in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Always busy, when she was younger and able, she played tennis, rode horses, volunteered with The Chiselers for the University of Tampa, did needlepoint, and kept up with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. But she was also a hard worker and held various jobs throughout her life, her favorites being emergency room office manager at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, office manager for Dr. McCurdy in Denver, and office manager for Don’s medical office in Wichita until both retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don E. Miller and grandson Christopher Sean Lawrence. Survivors include daughters Virginia Campbell and Sandra Lawrence, step-daughters Karen Funk, Janet James (Larry), Molly Finch (Ron), Lissa O’Donnell (Kevin), 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Loved like family are caregivers Teresa Moffat who had cared for both Lorraine and Don for almost fifteen years, Mary Boyd, Cynthia Underwood and Nicole Bailey. The family is forever grateful for their skill and care making Lorraine’s last days more comfortable.
