Martinez, GA – Nell Garrett Roberts, age 92, of Martinez entered into rest Friday, September 10, 2021 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Evans with Rev. Philip Hedgecoth officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Please practice social distancing and wear a mask if attending the service.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M., at First Baptist Church of Evans, 515 N. Belair Rd., Evans, GA 30809.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, Benjamin Franklin Roberts, Jr., and son, William “Bill” Roberts. She is survived by by her daughter: Pat Blankinship of Martinez; daughter-in-law: Sue Roberts of Cross Hill, SC; grandchildren: Billy and Diane Roberts of Grovetown, Amy and Gunn Stewart of Warrenton, Amanda and Kevin McClenny of Bethlehem, and Trey Lewis of Cross Hill, SC; great grandchildren: Dylan and Savannah Roberts, Gunner and Jacey Stewart, Kelbie Gunn, and Marshall and Bryce McClenny; former daughter-in-law: Judy Lamkin of Warrenton; as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Nell was the oldest and last surviving of seven siblings which included Ray Garrett, Jean Wolfe, Lamar Garrett, Billy Garrett, Doris Chandler, and Willie Mae Shaffer. She retired as a department manager of JB White’s after many years of service. Nell was a member of First Baptist Church of Evans for 56 years and enjoyed sewing and gardening in her free time. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Pallbearers will be Billy Roberts, Gunn Stewart, Dylan Roberts, Gunner Stewart, Michael Garrett and Donald Maddox. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin, Marshall, and Bryce McClenny.
