Rita Eckert

Rita Eckert entered into rest on January 12, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Rita DiGennaro Eckert of Augusta, GA was married 49 years to the late Jack Eckert.

Other family members include a daughter: Carol Strawn (Bob); son: John Eckert; granddaughter: Christy Reach (Dylan); great grandchildren: Gray, Libby, Cooper and Caroline Reach; God-daughters: Alicia DiGennaro (Joe) and Regina Meehan (Jack); along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Bryan Strawn, and brother, Charles DiGennaro.

Rita was born in Philadelphia, PA to Orlando and Nicollena DiGennaro. She retired as an Administrative Assistant at Georgia Regional Hospital. She was a loving mother, grand-mother and great grandmother. The family would like to thank the medical professionals at Encompass for the love and care they provided during Rita's illness.

A private burial will be held in Fitzgerald, GA. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Richmond County Public Library: 823 Telfair St. Augusta, Ga 30901
