Robert Leroy Jones

January 29, 1950 - January 8, 2022

Robert Leroy Jones passed away on January 8, 2022 at the age of 71. He was born in Lancaster, South Carolina to Vella and Watson Jones. Rob was raised in the Baptist faith, graduated from Liberty High School, and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. In his younger days, he loved tinkering with electronics, woodworking, classic rock, animals, and the great outdoors. An adventurous soul, he thought nothing of hitchhiking across the country with only his guitar and a duffel bag, taking in the beauty of nature along the way. Gregarious, Rob loved swapping life stories and a good political debate. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim, and is survived by his brother, Lee, sister, Mary, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, or the ASPCA.
