Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, November 14, 2021, Mr. Sam W. Craig, Jr., 89, loving husband of 64 years to Mrs. Gail Sarvis Craig.

Sam retired after 22 years with the U. S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. He served overseas in Germany, Korea, Laos, Vietnam, and the Pentagon. Sam was a member of Central Church of Christ. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: Sam W. Craig, III (Catherine), John A. Craig (Christy); grandchildren: Sam W. Craig, IV, Corena Cawley (Travis), Caleb Craig, Parker, Craig; great grandchildren: Sam W. Craig V, Charlotte Craig, Chandler Cawley, Grant Cawley, Maura Cawley and Odynn Cawley; sisters: Sandra Micka and Patricia Branch (Bill). He was preceded in death by his parents Sam W. Craig, Sr. and Jessie May Bateman Craig.

A graveside service will be held at Bellevue Memorial Gardens Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jeremy Hinote.
