Sophronia Vause Ellis, age 90, of Augusta, GA went to be with our Lord Friday, July 8th 2022.
“Fronie”, as she was known to family and friends, was born October 17, 1931 and attended Tubman Highschool.
Fronie was a Godly, strong, compassionate and fun loving woman who enjoyed nothing more than caring for those around her. As a stay at home mom of four boys and homemaker most of her life, she could always be found in the heart of her home - the kitchen. She had a zest for life and truly loved to cook and bake for all those around her. No matter who you were, you were always welcome to come and eat at her table.
She was an amazing mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We are all blessed to have known her. Fronie loved to laugh and joke but more importantly, she loved talking to people. There was never a bad day that she couldn’t make better for you or a stressful one that she couldn’t make melt away with her love and spirit.
Along with cookbooks she also loved to collect clocks, hats, heels, lamps, and anything that was sparkly and cute. Fronie may have liked to surround herself with shiny objects but she was ultimately a no frills type of woman who loved everyone just as they were. There aren’t enough words to describe her love and how much we all will miss her.
She is survived by her children, Bert (Sarah), Brian, Vincent (Anna), Eric (Lucy); Several grand children and great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her brothers, Fred, Curtis, and Baby;Sister Freda; Husband John; Parents, Ruby & Walter Vause; and Daughter in law Vickie.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 12th 2022, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 13th, 2022 at 10 a.m. located at Westview Cemetery, 2051 Division St. Augusta, GA 30904. Rev. Bart Grey officiating.
