Steve truly cared about soldiers. He was the epitome of a servant leader and referred to himself as a “muddy boots soldier.” Steve was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of American Legion Post 192 in Evans, GA. He was recently honored as a Campbell University Distinguished Alumnus of the Year. He told captivating stories and always had a new joke to tell. He was a friend to all and truly believed that it was more important to give than to receive. He was a down to earth and honest leader and his example is his legacy. His many friendships span the globe and he will be missed by all, especially his wife, children and family.

He is survived by the love of his life, best friend, and wife Julia (Hoffman) Eveker and their two children, Evan and Sarah. He was also the proud father of Shea (Eveker) Hoffpauer (Nick) of Atlanta, GA and Steven Eveker, Jr. of Bayfield, CO. He was the son of the late Donald and Katie Eveker of Cape Coral, FL and the brother of Sue (Eveker) Baker and Anne (Eveker) Burn (Greg) of Fort Myers, FL. He was an honored husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and dear friend to many. His life and service touched all who knew him and the world is a better place because he was here.
