Susan Spearman Prescott

Hephzibah, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, Mrs. Susan Spearman Prescott, 74, loving wife of 55 years to Mr. H. Bernard Prescott.

Susan was a faithful member of Pine Hill Baptist Church and Faith Bible Sunday school class. She retired after 30 years of service from Gracewood State School and Hospital. Affectionally known as Suzy, Suzy Sunshine, or Grammy, depending on who she was with, Susan was always smiling and had a positive attitude. After retiring she enjoyed working in her garden and going on family beach trips. She will be remembered by all as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and best friend.

Family members in addition to her husband include her children: Dana Smith (Clint), John Prescott (Sydney); grandchildren: Ashley Prescott (Landon), Brett Smith (Haley), Abby Prescott (Harrison) and Chase Smith; sisters: Nancy Waters and Penny Barnett as well as many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles Frank Spearman, Sr., and Sybil Hunt Spearman; sister: Pat Kroen; brothers: Charles Frank “Buddy” Spearman, Jr., and William “Billy” Spearman.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Barry Clanton officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Harrison Vital, Landon Harris, Doug Clayton, Allen Dempsey, James Awad and Stephen Salway. Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Prescott.
