Thomas "Tom" M. Brown, Sr.

Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, May 8, 2022, Thomas “Tom” M. Brown, 88, at Kentwood Extended Care Facility.
Tom was a native of Savannah, Ga and then upon retiring from the U.S. Army after 20 plus years, made Martinez, Ga his home. He then worked with West Richmond/Richmond County Fire Department and Sizemore Security. Tom retired a second time from the State of Ga after working 13 years at Gracewood State School & Hospital. He volunteered with the Martinez Fire Department and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Auxiliary. A Ham operator for over 25 years, Tom was a member and treasurer for Amateur Radio Club of Augusta (ARCA) for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents Bartow & Alma Brown, his wife of 49 years, Emma Brown, infant daughter Wanda Faye Brown, son Thomas (Mike) Brown, 3 sisters Helen Dadin, Evelina McMichael & Agnes Binnicker.
He was survived by his daughter Deborah (Debbie) Brown, 4 Grandchildren Elizabeth Brown of Oregon, Jason (Deborah) Brown of Texas, Candace (Matt) Johnson & Heather (Chris) Brown of South Carolina, great & great-great grandchildren, an assortment of nieces & nephews. Tom will also be missed by special extended family, Daisy & Richard Price & their family, and Terri & Ray Fulmer & their family. Tom’s family would like to thank Southeast Hospice for their care and support.
The funeral service will be held Friday, May 13, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
