Thomas Arthur Wood, Sr.

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, September 19, 2022, Thomas Arthur Wood, Sr., 72, loving husband of 53 years to Patricia Wood.

Thomas was a native of Greenville, SC. He served in the U.S. Air Force before retiring after 20 years of service. He worked as a mechanic at Savannah River Site before retiring. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed shooting guns and reloading ammunition. He was a family man who had a great love for his wife and the rest of his family.

Family members in addition to his wife include his child: Terri Wood; grandchildren: Allexis Platt and Dylan Platt; and great-grandchildren: Jessy Midkiff and Forrest Dearien. He is preceded in death by his son: Thomas Arthur Wood, Jr., and his brother: Billy Wood.

The funeral service will be held Friday, September 23, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Thurman Norville officiating. Interment will follow in Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery in North Augusta, SC.
