Augusta, GA –Entered into rest Friday, February 1, 2019, Mrs. Virginia Carolyn Rhodes, 88, loving wife to the late Aubrey Cecil Rhodes, Sr.

Mrs. Rhodes was a faithful Christian member of the Catholic Church. She was an officer of Rhodes-Murphy Income Tax Service and was a longtime employee of Taxslayer. She was an avid bridge player and was full of life. She had a great sense of humor who loved to cut up and make others laugh. Mrs. Rhodes was the family Matriarch who was a fearless leader and prayer warrior.

Family members include her Children: Aubrey Rhodes, Jimmy Rhodes (Kerry), Kathy O'Shields (Richard), Susie Beckworth (Keith), and Carl Rhodes (Lauren); Grandchildren: Trey, Daniel, Shannon, Brian, Scott, Katie Claire, Ansley, Madelyn, Stacey, Jennifer, Tiffany, Ricky, Ryan, Bryson, Ashleigh, and Morgan; 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild; and Sisters: Barbara Gleason Ginn and Patricia Gleason Morris. In addition to her Husband, she is preceded in death by her Brothers, Fr. Carl J. Gleason and Gerald Louis Gleason.

The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Fr. Mike Ingram a lifelong friend of the family. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons Brian, Scott, Trey, Daniel, Ricky, Ryan and Bryson.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
