AC Forgay

Augusta, GA – AC Forgay, 92, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Mr. Forgay was born January 18, 1933, in Sweetwater, TX to the late AC Forgay and Anna Bell Jordan. He lived a life marked by quiet strength, curiosity, and devotion to family. To his relatives and friends in Texas, he was known as “Sonny.” Upon graduating from Sweetwater High School, he served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He then went on to a fifty-year career in oil exploration as a geophysicist during which time he lived in over 30 different countries and was well known as an expert in his field. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Hannah Forgay and grandson, Christopher Younes.

Survivors include his children, Henri Younes, Annabelle Shepherd, and Andrew Forgay; his grandchildren, Hana Nanoah, Tanya Sallit, Linden Mortimer, Sean Shepherd, Jake Forgay, and Grace Forgay; and by six cherished great-grandchildren.

His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his wisdom, humor, sense of adventure, and his great love of family.

The service will be private.
