Evans, GA – Alexiss “Lexi” Morina Smith, age 32, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Wellstar/MCG Hospital, after losing a hard fought battle against leukemia. 

She was born August 13, 1992 in Augusta, GA to John Clifford Smith III and Sherry Ann Slaminko. She was a 2010 graduate of Lakeside High School and attended Augusta Technical College in 2016. 

 Lexi lived her life to the fullest and made each moment memorable while enjoying lifes simple pleasures. She never turned down the chance to spend time with the many friends and family that she loved, who loved her deeply in return. Whether it was a trip to enjoy the Highlands waterfalls, a New Years Day polar plunge in Charleston, a cookout at the lake or a relaxing day by the pool, she never hesitated. Her personality shone bright through her beautiful smile, curly hair, impressive make-up skills and her fresh funky manicures. 

Family members include her mother Sherry Slaminko, grandmother “Oma” Gerlinde Slaminko, son Zayne, daughter Leoni, sisters Rylee and Johnna, aunts Bettina (Scott) Pankey, Cathy (Jared) Maddocks, Sabrina (John) Smith, and her cousins Carlye, Ashlee, Sage, and Zach. She is also loved and missed by her extended family and friends in Germany. She was preceded in death by her father John C. Smith III, her grandfather “Opa” Robert H. Slaminko, grandparents Norris Ann and John Smith, Sr., aunt Shannon Smith and cousin Tyler. 

The memorial service will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. at Stevens Creek Church (main campus) in Augusta, GA with Pastor Todd Sturgill officiating.
