Alice DeBow

Alice Thompson DeBow, 90, joined the Lord on Saturday, January 17, 2026 in Augusta, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of 69 years to the late Rollis Arnold DeBow.

Mrs. DeBow was born on September 11, 1935 in Augusta to the late Olon C. Thompson and Eliza Usry Thompson and lived in Burke County. A woman of faith and prayer warrior, she was a charter member of Bayvale Baptist Church in Augusta prior to becoming a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. She served as a volunteer EMT with the McBean Fire Department. A devoted homemaker, Mrs. DeBow enjoyed baking, playing the piano, and spending time with her family. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Family members include her children, Wanda DeBow Poindexter (Lance), Carol DeBow Dees (Daniel), William Arnold DeBow, and Kimberly DeBow Russell; grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Schadel, Nichole Williford Gresham, Heather Poindexter Kennedy, Allison Poindexter Joiner, Robbie Arnold DeBow Russell, and Tyler Michael DeBow Russell; ten great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Lamar Thompson, Marjorie Ann T. Skiles, Edna T. Halverson, and O.C. Thompson, Jr.

Visitation will be Friday, January 23, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Piney Grove Baptist Church in McBean, GA.
