Bernie Brinkman

Formerly of Edgewood, KY, Bernard “Bernie” Louis Brinkman, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026 in Augusta, GA where he spent his last years with his daughter, Holly, grandson, Collin, and son-in-law, Mike.

Mr. Brinkman was born in Covington, KY to the late Bernard and Florence Brinkman. He was a 1953 graduate from Holy Cross in Covington, KY and 9 years later earned a Bachelors of Mechanical Science degree from the University of Cincinnati. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, tennis, art, and loved attending concerts. He loved to travel from Canada to Florida and everywhere in between. He was a UK basketball fan and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Family members include his son: Gary Brinkman (Lisa); daughter: Holly Nail (Mike); grandchildren: John Brinkman (Holly), Collin Brinkman, Abby Hughes (Weston), Lauren Roberson (Gage), and Nick Brinkman (Cassie); and his 4 great grandchildren: Preston and Waylon Brinkman, and Avery and Owen Hughes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Vera Sue Brinkman.

The family would like to thank his care team at Enhabit Hospice, Kathryn, Hope, Angie, and Vicky.

A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 12 Noon at St. Teresa of Avila with Fr. Tim McKeown officiating with a luncheon following in the Parish Life Center.
