Betty McCook

Miss Betty Lanette McCook was born on January 20, 1935 in Ben Hill County, Georgia to Waldo Emerson McCook and Augusta Stokes McCook.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Gerald, Charles and William George. Betty attended Georgia Baptist School of Nursing for her LPN and Medical College of Georgia for her Bachelor’s of Nursing. She retired from the nursing in 1992. She was a member First Baptist Church North Augusta and of the Pilot Club of North Augusta. She enjoyed reading, University of Georgia Bulldogs and traveling with friends.

She was a loving aunt and friend. Miss McCook passed away on March 20, 2026 in Augusta, Georgia.

She is survived by nephews, John, Michael, Tony and Everett and nieces, Dawn Mosely and Noel Brock.

A graveside service will be held at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, Georgia at a later date.
