Betty Newsome 

Augusta, GA – Betty Newsome, 92, entered into rest Friday, September 15, 2023.

Betty retired from the Medical College of Georgia. She loved her family dearly especially her daughter, son-in-law, grandson, and great grandson. She enjoyed being outside tending to her garden and throwing the baseball with her grandson.

Family members include her son-in-law: Mike Langham; grandson: Drew Langham (Sierra); great grandson: Luke Langham; sister-in-law: Ora Newsome; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter: Teresa Langham; parents: Homer and Gertrude Newsome; brothers: Billy Newsome, Robert Newsome, Jack Newsome, Clarence Newsome, Carlton Newsome; and sisters: Mae Estes, Annie Bell Edwards. 

The family would like thank Enhabit Hospice for their love and care as well as her caregivers Laura, Lynn, and Paulina. 

The memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 2:00 in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Chaplain Mike Bell officiating.
