Martinez, GA – Betty Sherrer Smith, 72, entered into rest on Friday, February 9, 2024.

 

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, CSM Scotty Ray Smith, her parents, Claude and Mabel Sherrer, and her siblings, Norma Combs and Allen Sherrer.

 

Betty’s legacy is carried forward by her devoted sons, Dallas Richardson (Sarah Jane) Smith and Thomas Darryl Smith. Betty’s spirit lives on in the laughter and dreams of her grandchildren, Emelia Smith, Austin ElLaissi, and Patrick ElLaissi. She is fondly remembered by her niece, Krista (Jimmy) LaRussa and nephews Todd Combs, Alex Sherrer, and Austin Sherrer, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

 

Born in Washington, Georgia, Betty’s life was a journey filled with the joys of exploration and discovery. As a military wife, she embraced the opportunity to experience the diverse cultures and landscapes of Europe, each new country adding a chapter to her story. She found fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life, dedicating herself to the roles of homemaker, wife, and mother with grace and love. Betty’s warmth and genuine interest in the lives of others made her a cherished grandmother, always eager to engage in the passions and pursuits of her grandchildren.

 

Betty’s memory will be honored in a graveside service to be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park. Pastor Greg Mason will officiate the service, offering solace and celebration for a life so beautifully lived.
