Celeste Rebecca "Becky" Ryan was born on June 24,1963 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on March 17, 2026 at the age of 62 in the VA Hospital of Augusta, Georgia.

Becky proudly served her country in the United States Army for 26 years. She entered the Army in 1987 where she became a Medical Laboratory Specialist. She was in the first class of the Army revamped Medical Laboratory Technologist program, class 1-94. She was sent downrange where she participated in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2005-2006. Her numerous awards include: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, third award, Army Commendation medal, fourth award, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, seventh award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, eighth award, and The Order of Military Medical Merit (02M3). Badges include: The Combat Action Badge, The German Armed Forces Marksmanship Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, The Driver and Mechanic Badge (Driver-W), Expert Rifle Marksmanship Badge, along with Several Soldier and NCO of the Quarter Board Awards.

She graduated Cum Laude from Touro University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and held a National Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Medical Laboratory Technician. She retired from active duty in May of 2013 and lived in Hephzibah, Georgia until her death this year.

She enjoyed traveling, golfing, umpiring baseball and refereeing football, also working at the Pro Shop at Applewood Golf Course.

Becky leaves behind her beloved sisters: Mickey Hatcher of Hephzibah, Georgia and Valerie Finley (David) of Monroe, Louisiana. Her Aunt Kenda and Uncle Elwood Cady of Arlington, Texas and an abundance of nieces & nephews that she loved so dearly and cherished every moment she spent with each of them. Additionally, she leaves behind her four-legged children whom she loved dearly: Frankie, Harley, Phantom, and Patches.

She's preceded in death by her parents Charles S. Ryan and Julianne B. Ryan as well as her sister Leslie R. Dixon. The family would like to thank Robert Melendez for the abundance of love and care he gave her during her final moments.

A memorial service will be held April 3, 2026 at 2:30pm at Providence Baptist Church. 3850 Wrightsboro Road Augusta, Georgia with Dr. Don Prosser officiating.
