Charles Robinson McDiarmid III went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 27, 2026 at Albert B. Chandler Hospital, Lexington, KR, after an extended illness. He was born August 8, 1968, at the 130st Station Hospital in Heidelberg, West Germany, son of Vivian and Charles McDiarmid, Jr., Augusta, GA.
Charles’ surviving children are Carlos Valverde McDiarmid, Isabella Maria McDiarmid and Necati (Nico) Valverde McDiarmid, Martinez, GA. He is also survived by his wife, Tammy McDiarmid, Henderson, KY, brother Donald Reese (Mary), Highlandville, MO, his sister Leilia McDiarmid Sprague (Mark) and nieces Lelia Cameron Sprague, Houston, TX and Ashley Reese, Highlandville, MO. His wife’ children, son Cody Zinzer, daughters Macie Story (James), Katee Burwell (Matt), Tammy’s seven grandchildren and her parents Linda and Leamon Robertson.
Charles, an army dependent lived on military bases in KY, VA, TX, NE and in Mannheim, Hanau, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Germany. He enjoyed traveling to many European countries.
Chares, a 1986 graduate of Evans High School, attended Charleston Southern University and worked at LyondellBasell, in Evansville, IN. Charles was an avid reader, coin collector and was driven by his deep passion for patriotism, US and world history. He and Tammy found equal joy in antiquing, hiking, camping, and exploring the wilderness often with their beloved and faithful German Shepherds, Kaiser and Otto.
A special thanks to Charles’ dear friends Ty Evans, Plum Branch, SC and Chris Davis, Port Arthur, TX for their 30+ years of friendship, prayers, and constant encouragement during his illness.
A graveside service will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Andy Menger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia, 1446 Harper Street, Augusta, GA 30912.
