Christopher Keith Finnell

Christopher Keith Finnell, of Harlem, GA, passed away unexpectedly on April 28th at the age of 44. His loss has left our family heartbroken and deeply shocked.

Chris was born on September 29, 1980, in Charleston, WV, to Gregory and Debra Finnell. As a child, he was diagnosed with the rare neurological condition Moyamoya. Despite this challenge, he bravely underwent two brain bypass surgeries in Texas as a teenager. Thanks to his strength and determination, Chris went on to live a full, happy, and healthy life.

He graduated from Greenbrier High School and continued his education at Augusta State University, later earning a degree in drafting from Augusta Technical College.

In 2013, Chris met the love of his life, Tiffany. They were married on July 16, 2016, and built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.

For more than 25 years, Chris worked at Kroger—first in Evans, then in Grovetown—where he became a beloved member of the community. Known for his warm smile and friendly conversations, he was always eager to share updates about his family, especially his nieces, or offer a quick movie review to a curious shopper.

Outside of work, Chris and Tiffany enjoyed going to movies, restaurants, and visiting museums. He had a passion for cooking and a lifelong love of collecting, especially Star Wars memorabilia and Legos.

Chris touched many lives with his kindness, humor, and resilience. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Tiffany Finnell; his parents, Gregory and Debra Finnell; his sisters, Amanda Howie (Bryce) and Kimberly Patterson (Erik); and his beloved nieces, Peyton Howie, Caroline Howie, Aubrey Patterson, and Lily Patterson. He is preceded in death by his niece, River Patterson.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 N Belair Rd, Evans, GA 30809 with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, 2235 Washington Rd. Thomson, GA 30824.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907.
