David Eslie Gallagher, 68, of Martinez, Georgia, passed away on February 22, 2026.
Dave was born on November 2, 1957, in Caribou, Maine. He graduated with the Class of 1976 in Limestone, Maine, and went on to attend the University of Presque Isle, Maine. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a nuclear power mechanic from March 28, 1978, until March 27, 1984, serving aboard the USS Mississippi stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Following his military service, Dave retired from Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, Georgia, after 30 years of dedicated work. Along with a friend, he co-founded WarTimePress.com, a company preserving and archiving materials from World War II. Dave was a devoted member of Martinez Methodist Church. He found joy in coaching soccer in Columbia County and volunteering during the 1996 Olympic Games. He loved tending to his garden and cherished spending summers in his beloved home state of Maine.
He is survived by his Loving wife Nancy O’Bar Gallagher; brother, Kenneth Gallagher of Ohio; Sister, Linda Gallagher of Maine; children, Kyle (Donna) Gallagher of Evans, GA., Marcus (Crystal) Gallagher of Roanoke, Va.; Grandchildren, Hannah Hill, David Wayne Gallagher, Hunter Gallagher, Connor Gallagher, James Dove, Adalynn Gallagher; Favorite sister-in-law Holly (David) Ready & their children; Michael, William, Stephen, Timothy, Madelyn, & Christian of Maine. Favorite Uncle & Aunt Ron (Barb) Gallagher of Maine. Mother-in-law Adelma O’Bar of Maine, close friends Eric & Ivy Fogt of SC; along with many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eslie and Priscilla Gallagher, and sister, Nancy Jean Gallagher.
Memorial service will be held at Martinez Methodist Church on Friday, February 27th at 5:00pm. Donations and flowers in his memory can be made out to Martinez Methodist Church. 3614 Washington Rd. Martinez, GA,30907.
